Coronavirus spreads through the air when we cough, sneeze or speak. It can stay alive on contaminated surfaces for a period of time and spread on contact with such surfaces. You can stay safe from this pandemic situation by following these simple things in your daily life
Wear a mask: Whenever going outside, wear a mask on your face. Make sure the mask is covering your face, nose, and chin completely. Also do not touch your mask with your hands when removing it as it might be infected. Store and wash it if it is a cloth mask or dispose of the medical masks. Do not use masks with valves in it.
Maintain distance: Maintain at least 6 feet (2 meters) distance from yourself and others to reduce the risk of infection when they sneeze or cough. Even indoors try to maintain as much distance as possible. Avoid crowded places if you can. If you can’t, then at least make sure the place is ventilated well.
Avoid skin contact: Do not touch unnecessary things as their surfaces might be infected. Do not shake hands with others; instead, greet them some other way. Only touch items that are necessary. Also, sanitize the items before using them.
Wash your hands regularly: Regularly wash your hands with soap and water. If you are outside carry a sanitizer bottle with you and sanitize your hands regularly. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose as your hands touch many things.
Clean regularly touched surfaces: Clean the surfaces that are touched regularly like your phone screen, door handles, table, and chairs around you as they might have a very high chance to get infected.
People infected with Covid—19 have the following symptoms
– High fever
– Dry cough
– Problem breathing/out of breath.
– Irritation in the throat
If you have these symptoms, get yourself checked, and if found tested positive isolate yourself so as to prevent others from getting infected. Also, elderly people, people with diabetes, asthma, or lung-related problems are prone to get infected more likely, so they should try to keep themselves safe. Over 90% of covid patients recover without any problem, so even if you are found positive do not panic and give your body rest till you recover from it.
